The aging population in Korean society is steadily increasing. This demographic shift poses social challenges, making efforts to improve the quality of life for seniors increasingly important. In particular, low-income seniors form social networks through neighborly ties, which have been shown to enhance their physical and psychological health as well as their sense of happiness. In this context, The purpose of this study is to identify impacts of low income seniors’ neighborhood bonds on psychological happiness and quality of life. To do this, this study conducted the survey of 226 low income seniors who are residing in W city, Gangwon-do and analyzed retrieved questionnaires, using SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 28.0. The research results based on the research hypotheses are as follows. First, hypothesis 1 that neighborhood bonds would have an impact on quality of life was adopted. Second, hypothesis 2 that neighborhood bonds would have an impact on psychological happiness was adopted. Thid, hypothesis 3 that psychological happiness would have an impact on quality of life was also adopted. Fourth, hypothesis 4 that neighborhood bonds mediating psychological happiness would have an impact on quality of life was adopted. The research results are significant that the research emphasized the importance of neighborhood bonds to enhance low income seniors’ psychological happiness and quality of life. Furthermore, this study stands out due to its focus on a research topic that has not previously been explored among low-income seniors. It highlights the importance of psychological well-being in improving the quality of life for this demographic. Additionally, the study provides significant academic insights by confirming the mediating effect of psychological well-being in the relationship between neighborly ties and quality of life.
